From a visionary idea in 2023 to a transformative digital health ecosystem in 2025 — we've been building bridges between technology and healthcare to serve the people of Sikkim.
Sikkim Medical Council Health Services identifies the need for a centralized digital doctor registry. A task force is formed under the Vice Chancellor to study telemedicine feasibility in mountainous terrain.
First telemedicine pilot connects STNM Hospital Gangtok with 5 remote PHCs. 87% patient satisfaction recorded. Government of Sikkim grants seed funding.
Health Portal v1.0 developed in collaboration with IIT Guwahati. Features: Doctor registration, search, and emergency routing system. Beta testing begins with 200 doctors.
Portal goes live across all 4 districts. 1,247 doctors registered within 60 days. Integration with Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) completed.
Sikkim Health App launched on Android & iOS. Features: Doctor search, appointment booking, digital health ID, and emergency SOS. Downloaded by 45,000+ citizens.
98% of Sikkim's doctors are on the portal. Serving 1.2 lakh+ consultations monthly. Recognized by WHO as a model for digital health in hilly regions.
